Here are some images from my install in Kansas and some shots of the city of Lawrence. Don't forget to read the post before this.

Hello everyone. After a long trial of a weekend I have returned from Kansas in my ruby Suburban, there's no place like home. I would venture to say that Coralie and I drove more than we didn't. We arrived in Chattanooga at 3a.m. and got up around 9a.m. to uninstall my work. The uninstall was interesting. Knowing that the wall I have wouldn't fit through the doors of the gallery in Kansas I modified my wall to be taken apart and reassembled, it wasn't as bad as it may sound. Everything was down and loaded within two hours, so it went pretty fast. We left Chattanooga at around 1p.m. and arrived in Lawrence at about 4a.m. We got up again at about 9a.m. to install the work in the gallery there. While installing my work i noticed that some of my mounts had been broken and ductaped back on..... kinda weird but I had brought some wood with me so everything got fixed. Also while loading my second piece there was some damage there... but again I had brought some plaster with me and all was fixed. We finished there just in time to see the sun set, 7p.m. We started driving back as soon as we could. We drove all night and arrived at Jackson at 5:30a.m. but we could go no farther.
I had a really good experience and learned a lot. I had expected that some of my work would be abused, being that it is interactive, but i didn't think about someone trying to take my screen in my piece. I really thought that was funny and kinda cool but rather uncalled for. I really tested myself to get everything done and not flip out. It was a challenge but luckily I had anticipated having to fix some of my work, and had brought materials to do so. I will hear about the results from the judging on tuesday wish me luck!!!

As some of you three followers may know I was in a juried show in Chattanooga over the weekend. There were six works in the show and two of those works were mine. The website says that there were 40 artist with about 300 artworks. So I guess that having two works in is a good thing. I was also awarded first place in the show. The jurors were Robert Stackhouse and Carol Mickett. They were really nice. I enjoyed talking to them, they offered me some really good advice about graduate programs and art in general. All in all it was a very pleasant experience. I do have to say that without the help of Coralie I'm not so sure I could have done it. She was a huge help with the installation as well as driving. Here are a few pictures.
